Features :
|
 |
Strong construction of mechanism and casing ensures long life.
Close control over product uniformity.
Minimum loss of fines in the tailings. Special liners are available for processing abrasive materials. |
|
Advantages :
|
The Air Classifier is a centrifugal type classifier used to separate dry powdered materials into fine and coarse fractions. It may be operated in closed circuit with a grinding mill or used in open circuit operation, receiving the feed from hoppers, bins screens. |
|
Fineness Control :
|
The classifier fineness characteristics are controlled mainly by changing the number, size of whizzer blades or by
adjustment of vertical slide dampers. These adjustments can be conveniently made to produce the product of required fineness.
TYCO classifiers are capable of delivering fine products from 80–85 % passing 60 mesh to as fine as 99.9% passing through 100 mesh depending upon the material characteristics. |
|
Application in Glosed Gircuit Grinding
|
When operated in closed circuit, combination with a Pulveriser the separator skims off the fines as fast as they are made, so that the mill works only on fresh material without wasting power. The tailings are discharge back to the mill for further reduction. The reground material is returned to the separator with the feed, so that constant circulating load set up between the mill & the separator. |
|
THE ADVANTAGES IN USING MECHANICAL AIR SEPARATOR IN CLOSED CIRCUIT WITH THE GRINDING MILL FOR PRODUCING CLOSELY SIZED FINISHED PRODUCTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING |
|
|
| |
|
| • |
Positive control of Fineness or surface area, and the elimination of over sized particles. |
| • |
For convenient variation of product fineness, vertical dampers permit wild range changes in fineness, externally while the separator is in operation. |
| • |
Increasing the capacity or output of the grinding mill performance, reports have shown increases from 25-75 % or more. |
| • |
Lowering the temperature of the mill & product. |
| • |
Improvement in grinding efficiency, as in the case of Ball mills where ball coating with the fine material can materially impair grinding ball effectiveness. |

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS OF AIR CLASSIFIERS |
|
|
CEMENT : Used enclosed circuit grinding operations for classifying raw mix and finished cement. |
LIMESTONE : To meet close specifications of granular sand material used in bituminous concrete, mortar and as an aggregate. |
FLOUR MIXES : For uniform mixes and enriched grades of flour. |
SODA ASH : De–dusting to remove undesirable fines fraction - for example removing feed of 15%–20% passing 200 mesh and delivering a tailings product of 5% or less passing 200 mesh |
HYDRATED LIME : Produces a high fineness, uniformly classified hydrated lime for chemical and spray purposes. Maximum quantity of calcium hydrate is assured with close control of both fineness and quantity. |
FOOD PRODUCTS : For classifying for various food products such as sugar, cocoa, milk powder, corn, wheat starch and Soya bean meal etc. |
CHEMICALS : Wide range of applications where manufactured chemicals are required in closely sized form. |
MINERALS : In benefaction of a wide variety of minerals such as talc, kaolin, clays, phosphate rock etc. The quality of the material is upgraded by removing impurities in the form of silica, flint and other foreign materials. |
METAL POWDERS : For classifying metal powders consisting of copper, bronze, iron and various alloys. |

ULTRA FINE TURBO CLASSIFIER
|
| |
In its ongoing effort for over two decades to provide world-class international technology for the processing of powders TYCO now offers ULTRAFINE TURBO CLASSIFIERS in cooperation with IVA
Industrieberatung GmbH, Germany. These Classifiers are manufactured in our Plant at Nagpur , India to high precision standards laid down by IVA . These machines are available in six basic models for the classification of dry powders as fine as 4 microns.
|
Features : |
-
Designed to operate on any dry particulate material.
-
Consists of a separating rotor, driven by an electric motor through a frequency Converter, contained in a casing fabricated with wear resistant micro alloy steel or Stainless steel parts.
-
Classifies with high degree of accuracy within the range of 4 to 150 microns with a high output per unit size, high extraction efficiency and lower power consumption.
-
Can be set to classify to different cut points with change of Rotor Speed.
-
An additional air stream entering the classifier tangentially increases the residence time of particles in the separating zone and sifts the rejected material to the rejects cone, with a butterfly valve controlling the air volume to the optimum for any desired cut point or feed material.
-
Designed to operate in open circuit as a packaged classifying unit complete with its own pulse jet filter and fan system or alternatively in closed circuit with any conventional milling or grinding system.
-
6 standard models with capacities from a few kilos to many tones per hour
